Love Cloud for Heart Warrior Cameron

Donation protected
This story started 8 months ago. I am updating with happier and much more pleasing  photographs of this darling little boy Cameron.

As a mother and grandmother I started this campaign in support of Zane and Nicole and our precious grand-baby, Cameron, who was recovering from 3 major surgeries, which he had soon after birth starting at the tender age of 2 days old.

Cameron had open heart surgery to repair his narrowed aorta and also had a colostomy placed, due to having anal atresia.

His 3rd major surgery to help him to breathe came after complications from the heart surgery whereby both his vocal cords became paralyzed.  This surgery was successful due the ENT surgeon who performed a Cricoid Split and thus prevented Cameron from having a tracheostomy.

He also underwent a Nissen procedure (abdominal surgery) to prevent him from aspirating (choking) as he may have had reflux and with his paralysed vocal cords it was hazardous.

We are so grateful to the tremendous medical teams taking care of Cameron.

Further surgeries were needed down the line to reconstruct an anal opening for his colon, and then another will be needed to close his colostomy.  (possibly in February/March 2019)

All these surgeries and situations can be fraught with complications which can extend the recovery period as was experienced with Cameron after his heart surgery.

Up to date:  (December 2018) Cameron's tiny, little body has had to endure many general anesthesias and surgeries, including spinal surgery for a tethered spinal cord and an anoplasty. We pray for complete healing and restoration of this beautiful little boy. One wonders why this suffering has to be and how such a tiny little body can endure so much.

Yet Faith, Hope and  Love is what we have to encourage us.

His latest surgery on the 7th December was once again very successful. His tooshie was created (anoplasty) and his amazingly courageous and strong  momma named it Project Peaches :)  He is now 2 weeks post-op and doing extremely well.

Zane and Nicole have been super strong, brave and faithful in their trust in God from where they draw their strength and endurance. They are humbled and grateful for all the support in various forms they have received thus far.
When they feel tired and totally exhausted physically and emotionally, it is the prayers, compassion, love and emotional support of friends and family that  sustain them.

We are acutely aware of medical costs in this country and so I hope to help further, in relieving their tremendous stress by raising funds to alleviate their financial burden, as they go through this season of their lives, with their precious little baby, overcoming all that they face together.

Zane and Nicole are responsible young adults who have always had Medical Insurance. Yet the costs mount daily with at least  $12,000 to pay for out of pocket expenses and ancillary costs this year.  My goal is to raise funds to help meet this amount at least.  As I am updating this, we reached $10,500.00 because of all of you.

Nicole stays at home and cares for Cameron as he grows stronger. Naturally their income has thus been reduced and the financial burden weighs heavy on their minds. We are all so grateful for a loving God, supportive and caring friends who are standing by and walking next to these two brave people.

When I finally took the plunge and started this campaign I felt a little stressed and also embarrassed as I have not asked for help like this before.
Zane and Nicole appreciated the effort, yet they too  felt uncomfortable  because they have always been responsible young adults, never having had to ask for help in any way.

It is a very humbling experience to be in the position of receiving rather than giving.

I did this by faith and inspiration, knowing the needs of these two strong, faithful and brave young people.

Every single donation has been a blessing and coming from the heart with well wishes, prayers, uplifting and encouraging comments inspire and make life so much better and easier.
Thank you so much for your support, love and care.

As I update this "their story" Cameron came home from the hospital on Monday 9th June after having spent his first (almost 2 months) in the hospital fighting for his life and is doing very well.

At first he had to have oxygen at home as a safety-net and back up. His breathing and heart rate had to be monitored constantly, he had to be fed through a tube which was inserted directly into his tummy through his skin as he could not yet swallow because of his paralysed vocal cords and his colostomy bag had to be managed. All of this by the loving, caring and expert hands and dedicated surveillance of mainly his most efficient, smart and brave mommy with a little bit of help from amazing home nurses and  the moral support of family and friends.

Miracles do happen and we have witnessed them throughout this journey since this beautiful little soul with a spirit so sweet and happy has entered this world.

The incredible gifts from all our friends, your time, money, prayers, words, cards, meals, calls and thoughts have been miracles in themselves and we are  all so very grateful.

His healing and  progress is miraculous to us as we witness ways in which science and faith come together.

He is a strong little champion, blessed with a disposition one can only pray to have.

All his milestones have been met and we pray this continues as he grows.

We hope you continue to follow Cameron and his precious family as he continues to be an inspiration to us all.
