* WATER
Purified water is a basic survival need, & still widely unavailable in many locations affected by recent storms. Water supplies in affected communities remain increasingly contaminated, & conditions are perfect for the outbreak of waterborne disease.
Bottled water is logistically challenging to deliver & a limited, single-use resource, so portable water purification systems like LifeStraw Mission, LifeStraw Community & Sawyer Bucket Filters are literally life-saving.
With your help, our TEAMs can rapidly supply & deliver these crucial systems to affected families.
* POWER / LIGHT
There is still widespread power outage in many storm-damaged areas, & a lack power & light is dramatically affecting residents. The inability to heat/boil water, power communication devices, run crucial equipment (such as medical equipment in clinics) or even have light to see indoors or at night is a critical concern.
Fuel-reliant generators are heavy and not easily transported, loud, & must be kept outside (making them subject to theft). Gas remains scarce, further limiting the effectiveness of traditional fuel-reliant power sources.
By contrast, portable solar power systems & generators are lightweight, easily moveable, silent, produce no fumes (allowing them to be used indoors), & can run virtually indefinitely without dependence on gas. Solutions like CTP’s GoalZero Solar products
