My Olympic Dream as a Climber

My name is Charlie Schreiber, I am am 24 years old and have been rock climbing for 11 years. I have been bouldering and sport climbing at a Nationally Competitive level for 10 years. I have attended 10 National Championships here in the US and 2 Bouldering World Cups in Switzerland and Vail, Colorado. In 2017 and 2018, I placed 1st in 10 Regional and Divisional events, 22nd at Bouldering Nationals, and 49th in this year's Bouldering World Cup, finishing 6th for the American Team! I even found time to compete on the TV Show, American Ninja Warrior in Season 9! I am now focused on qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, in which Rock Climbing will have it's debut in front of the world! To prepare for this, I climb and do climbing-specific training for 20+ hours a week and use the few vacation days I have as self-ran training camps at outdoor climbing areas.
I balance this training with working 40 hours a week as a Coach and Route Setter at High Exposure Climbing Parkour, and on the weekends I spend time with my girlfriend, Samantha, and support my youth competitors at their competitions.
Due to my lack of free-time, and lack of funds, I can not travel to train at ideal locations, afford the top facilities for recovery, the best food for an ideal diet, or take the time off from constantly working to take my performance to the next level!
I will use this extra money to increase my quality of training and recovery, travel to training camps and outdoor climbing areas, eat organic and nutritious food, and build a training wall at my house that will enable me train on the type of walls that will be at the olympics!
I am currently at the ideal age and am in prime physical condition, and know that this is the one chance I will have at achieving my dream of the Olympics and reaching the pinnacle of my potential as a climber. I want to inspire my team of youth climbers and all the aspiring climbers and athletes that follow and look up to me on instagram (@charlie46)!
