CLEPO needs your support to support the community
We have come a long way since the spring of 2014 when we first found out that a permit for mining in West Suffield, CT had been requested by Lake Road Materials. From a group of community members asking many questions about how the Town of Suffield could allow something that would have so many negative impacts on our community, to forming a non-profit organization, educating ourselves, and planning fundraisers. We have worked hard to get the word out to the surrounding community and the press. We have been hustling non-stop to block the return of mining to our community.
We took our issues to court, and the court ruled in our favor canceling the mining permit! Now we face an appeal of that decision to the appellate court which could reinstate mining – destroying our hard earned victory. Needless to say, there is no turning back at this point. We will move forward, and do all we can to defend the trial court’s decision to cancel the permit.
