Colorism Healing Poetry Contest '16
Donation protected
Dear FRIENDS and FAMILY
I want to share with you a very special event that I am hosting on my blog: The 2016 Colorism Healing Poetry Contest. The CHPC is designed to raise awareness about colorism and provide a productive and creative outlet for self-expression and healing. The contest is FREE to enter and is open to all ages and to people from all countries. Contestants have the chance to win cash awards and publication online and in print. You can learn more here .
When I held the contest in 2014, over 300 people submitted. This year I’d like to exceed that number and provide greater opportunities for the poets to have their work published. I’m reaching out to my circle of friends and family to help me reach that vision. Here are 2 ways you can help:
Spread the Word. Please tell your friends, family, students, and colleagues about the contest and encourage them to enter and to spread the word.
Make a Donation. In 2014 I paid out the cash awards from my personal funds. This year I’m seeking sponsors who can help me cover the costs of prize money ($225 total) and print publication ($500 budget). My goal is to raise $750 by April 15th. Donors will receive a public thank you and acknowledgement on the website and in the 2016 CHPC anthology, unless you request to remain anonymous. You can make a donation HERE or mail a check to 3450 Nicholson Drive, Apt 2006, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Sarah
