Courtney's Medical Fund

Her face is familiar to many: she’s known for her smile, wit, loud but loving personality, and her flawless coffee-making skills. Courtney Brenner is known to many Hollis and Brookline locals as “The Dunks Girl,” and sometimes even “MY Dunks Girl.”

She also happens to be one of my very best friends, and one of the kindest, most free spirited people I know. She has a love of everything, including and especially animals.

It was that love for furry creatures that caused Courtney to do all she could to avoid hitting a little bunny that crossed her path on a windy road. Courtney swerved and crashed her car into a tree on a backroad in Hollis. The accident landed Courtney in the hospital with multiple injuries. After many tests, scans, and X Rays, doctors determined that she had fractured her left wrist, broken her right hand, and severed the tendon above her left knee. Valiant fighter that she is, the girl endured four hours of surgery to repair her knee and hand. The surgery went well and she is on the (painful) road to recovery.

I’m starting this fund to help my best friend with the expenses that I know she’ll have to face after she recovers.

My hope is that this can be a way for people to give back to someone who has (literally) served so many in our community. Any amount will help chip away at the costs she will soon face.

My ask? How about the price of a coffee or two. $2.50 is never much in the morning, but it could go a long way towards helping a well-known member of our community.

I’m setting this up without Courtney’s knowledge, and I hope to raise as much as I can to surprise her when she starts to stress. It will mean so much to me, and I know it will mean everything to her to see support from her friends, family, and favorite customers.
