Bryan's Brain Turmor Turmoil

I am the concerned mother of a young man who is under a lot of physical, emotional, and financial stress. My son Bryan is a 36 year old single father with 1 daughter Rain (18yrs) and 2 sons Zander (12yrs), Austin (10yrs). He was diagnosed with a pituitary gland tumor in late 2015. The tumor had already caused many health issues by putting enough pressure on the bone between the brain and spinal cord to dissolve it (leaving a gap from which spinal fluid can escape), wrapped itself around the carotid artery (which is now supported only by the tumor) as well as the left optic nerve (causing issues with sight). He was given medications to shrink it; however, as it shrank other problems arose. He began having seizures, emotional breakdowns due to the pituitary gland not working and other physical problems related to the location of the tumor. The doctors believe they can no longer shrink it or operate without risking loss of sight and heart attacks, current monthly medication keeps the tumor from growing further. Bryan has been barely keeping his head above water both emotionally and financially; he is no longer able to work in chosen trade of construction so income has changed drastically. He is now living on our (parent's) property in an aging camp trailer that needs to be winterized. A recent injury to his back (leaving his left leg in constant and extreme pain, oft times useless) has hindered his attempts to work. The Neurologist has determined that he has a herniated disk requiring surgery on Oct 26th. We are seeking financial assistance to help with his co pays for medications and medical visits, winterizing his trailer (insulation and roof for structure he has built around camper) and monthly bills to tide him over until can go back to work after surgery; he has a minimum wage job he can return to once he recovers from the back injury or he finds other sources of income better suited to his disabilities.

I haen't posted in quite a while as things were looking up for Bryan. Unfortunately that isn't true and really wasn't. Bryan has been in considerable pain since his surgery, he even attempted to go back to work so that we, his parents, wouldn't have to continue to pay his bills and take care of his living expenses but has injured himself more. It turns out that his surgery was to remove a portion of one of his vertebra that was splintered, the 2 vertebrae below the one partially removed are also splintered and because of the mini-stroke he had he didn't understand. He is now off work again and likely to be for a long time. He might also have to go back to surgery. The tumor is also growing again so all of his medicines have been increased. If you can give, please do so. It is appreciated more than I can say and used exclusively for his care and that of his children. If not, please pass this on as he is suffering more from not being able to provide for his little family than the pain (he is becoming accustomed to that). Please pray as well, he is turning more to the Lord instead blaming him which is so good!

"It has most definitely been a blessing to know people care and comfort and are willing to help those in need.I appreciate all the donations. I could not have gotten by without your support. Four weeks after surgery I'm still sore but moving, only 3 weeks until I am able to work and once again take care of my self and boys. God Bless and Thank you!" Bryan S.

Bryan is doing better but still needing assistance due to no work for the several weeks before surgery and while recovering. Thank you!

Bryan's birthday was yesterday, yeah! He is 36 now! He also had a check up Monday on his brain tumor, it doesn't look good. Sometime in the last month or so he had a mini stroke; we suspected as his mouth droops a bit, probably around the time of his surgery. The doctors says they will most likely continue as the tumor isn't shrinking anymore. It is still in-operable. His blood work shows that all his hormonal levels (thyroid, testosterone, etc) are higher than they should be so they are increasing his medications. Without the pituitary gland producing hormones he will continue to have these kind of issues. He doesn't like the side effects from the meds but is resigned to live with them as they do mean he is still alive. Please help! He has reached $1000 of the $4500 he needs, any amount however small will ease his mind and assist him. Thaak you and God Bless!

Bryan is doing as well as can be expected, getting bored and so hard to confine in bed! He still needs help to do things like getting out of bed and such. It is difficult for him to stand or sit for a long time, getting around takes a lot of effort but his leg isn't numb anymore so that is a plus! He is healing well it appears we are praying he continues to do so. He is worried about covering his bills in December and getting his boys gifts for Christmas, his next appointment is on the 17th and he can't return to work for awhile. Although it is hard to ask, any and all help will be much appreciated.
