Brookwood Easter & Essentials

The purpose of raising $2,500.00 (or more) my friends to raise funds for the Brookwood of Florida, which is a home for girls between the ages of 12-20. The funds are being used for a number of the basic essentials (http://www.brookwoodflorida.org/get-involved/in-kind-donations/ ) Brookwood need for the girls and administration costs as well as we're building up to 30 individualized Easter baskets for the girls with their needs & a special want, some of which never had their own waiting for them Easter morning.
Working with the directors we've established the ages and what their wants and needs and we have been blessed that a number of people have volunteered as shoppers and builders to pull this off before Easter.

Founded in 1927, Brookwood Florida provides a unique, life-changing residential program for non-pregnant, non-addicted, at-risk girls between the ages of 11-21 who had been abused (physically, sexually, emotionally), abandoned, neglected or trafficked against their will. The overall goal of Brookwood and their unbelievable staff is to help prepare the girls to become self-sufficient and self-supporting adults, and work toward family reunification when possible.
How did I get involved? Well a very dear departed friend of mine, Donn Davis, introduced me to Brookwood Home for Girls18 years ago when he invited my family to participate in his annual "Donn Davis Christmas Sleigh Ride", which is going on its 38th year for 2017. Donn passed away 6 years ago but his dream has been kept alive because those who had been involved and witnessed his passion and understood what a difference Brookwood makes in these girls lives as well as ours!
