Brookwood Easter & Essentials
Working with the directors we've established the ages and what their wants and needs and we have been blessed that a number of people have volunteered as shoppers and builders to pull this off before Easter.
Any amount is greatly appreciated...Thank you!!!
For those of you that don't know about Brookwood of Florida here's a brief description but I urge you to check out their web site and better yet, take a ride down and tour itfor yourself and see if there is anything you can do:
Founded in 1927, Brookwood Florida provides a unique, life-changing residential program for non-pregnant, non-addicted, at-risk girls between the ages of 11-21 who had been abused (physically, sexually, emotionally), abandoned, neglected or trafficked against their will. The overall goal of Brookwood and their unbelievable staff is to help prepare the girls to become self-sufficient and self-supporting adults, and work toward family reunification when possible.
How did I get involved? Well a very dear departed friend of mine, Donn Davis, introduced me to Brookwood Home for Girls18 years ago when he invited my family to participate in his annual "Donn Davis Christmas Sleigh Ride", which is going on its 38th year for 2017. Donn passed away 6 years ago but his dream has been kept alive because those who had been involved and witnessed his passion and understood what a difference Brookwood makes in these girls lives as well as ours!
Again, any amount is greatly appreciated...Thank you & God Bless!!!!!
I truly hope everyone had an amazing Easter holiday. Because of you, I know of 30 young ladies that were able to experience the joy of being loved on Easter morning by finding a basket made just for them!
The team, Lauren & Daniel Davenport, Maureen & Jerry Barnum, Maggie Prittie, Laura & Cole Eicher, my wife Debbie & daughters Juliana & Alexandria, Becky Henderson, all met at Maureen's house Saturday morning and had a blast building them. Laura Eicher wins the prize of being the "fastest and most effective" Easter Basket builder!
Debbie & I then dropped the baskets off at 11:00pm Saturday night and the girls awoke as if it was Christmas morning and Santa had visited them in the night. They absolutely loved them!!!
This campaign is now officially closed, based on your contributions of time, materials and funds we were able to build the 30 baskets as you see shown and by the Grace of God, have enough $'s left to present Brookwood a check in the amount of $1,000.00!
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!!!
Please remember that Brookwood can use our help year round with various projects and contributions. One such project to be scheduled is that members of our church, Grace Family (South Tampa), http://gfconline.com/ , under the direction of our Campus Pastor Mike Ash, will be working with Brookwood to schedule a weekend to paint the main building and dormitory's...As I said, this is one of many projects they need help with!
There's so much they need on a regular basis...not only for materials but mentoring and so much more! Please feel free to call #727.822.4789 or email Dee Monje email@example.com, to see how you can help.
Again, thank you and may God Bless you and yours!
Randy & Debbie Kane
We've received $1835.00 in cash donations and by the Grace of God & Lauren D’s creativity, had friends, family and colleagues via “social media” actually purchased and shipped items from the girls wish list for tomorrow’s assembly.
As originally stated, ALL the remaining funds will go directly to Dee @ Brookwood for her to utilize as & where needed. I’ll have a final number to post after tomorrow morning, when a number of us are meeting in Feather Sound ( thank you Maureen! ) , to build the 30 baskets and get them over to Brookwood for the girls Sunday morning surprise.
God Bless you and your families and again, THANK YOU!!!!
Happy Passover Happy Easter!
Randy & Debbie
