Beautiful Brooklyn is a precious little princess who was born on July 15, 2016 to Airman First Class Sheltaya Williams.

Unfortunately she was born with a heart in dire need of a healing.  Brooklyn's undeveloped heart has caused some life threatening systemic issues requiring multiple  surgeries and a treatment plan that involves many more procedures.  We have watched her transition from our lively little princess into a very sick tiny one.  We are grieved to see her struggle through all of her challenges.

This struck inspiration to create BROOKLYN'S HEALING HEART CHALLENGE..  As our country deals with many turbulent issues such as civil unrest, disunity within our communities,  a tense and uncertain political landscape, racial and ethnic intolerance, we feel many individuals could contribute to a movement that desires to heal an ailing heart much like our precious Brooklyn. So allow her personal battle to inspire you to make a difference.

Brooklyn's Healing Heart Challenge consists of three things

1. DO A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS- your actions may help heal the heart of someone you may or may not know.

2. LET US KNOW ABOUT IT ON BROOKLYN'S SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS- we want this to become contagious! Post  to the Brooklyn's Healing Heart Challenge Facebook page with the
#BeautifulBrooklyn
#PrayersForBeautifulBrooklyn and #BrooklynsHealingHeartChallenge

3. DONATE TO BROOKLYN'S HEALING HEART CHALLENGE!
- All proceeds from this fundraising challenge will be equally split between the two entities that have blessed her family.

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH- The hospital that provides exemplary care for Brooklyn and continues to love her through her trials.
                                                     and
ALLEGHENY CENTER ALLIANCE CHURCH CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES- This is where her mother Sheltaya has both attended as a child, and then served as an adult. This ministry was very insturmental in making Airman Williams the upstanding individual she is today.

Both of these entities continue to do great work on behalf of children and we are forever grateful.

OMGNESS!!! What a difference a worldwide group of prayer warriors makes.

So Brooklyn is doing so well her nurses often have to care for two babies. Under normal circumstances we would be upset about this, how and ever, with the dire straits we've been in, it is a blessing to know Brooky-lyn is no longer so ill she has to be monitored at all times.

She has removed the dressing from her pic line, attempted to remove her breathing tube, and she balls those fists up in a fighting stance on a regular basis. She is the ultimate fighter and a rambunctious patient for all of her nurses. They are slowly weaning her from pain meds and preparing her to breathe completely on her own. I know this is an unbelievable report but in the words of one of the nurses who was with her in the worst of times "She is definitely a miracle".

Finally we were also told by one of the 'Comfort Care' team that she is the talk of their meetings because no one believed she would make it. All we can say to that is HALLELUJAH!!!! We Believe the report of the Lord!!!

Thank you for your prayers and please continue as she still has to gain weight in order to be eligible for her heart surgery, she has to have the heart surgery before she can have the intestinal surgery and we are always on guard for infection and injury to other organs. You have been amazing and for your support we are forever grateful.

Please share the challenge with everyone you know as children's Hospital is loving our baby through this very tough time and Children's ministry is feeding and supporting our family as we post up at the hospital.

So Brooky had a good day today. Sadly a good day in our eyes still includes a lot of stress and pain for her. I keep hearing the song "He'll Take the Pain Away" and can't help praying that God will do that for the Princess. She has been through so much and to see her struggle with the pain of constant pricks, prying, tossing and turning makes our hearts hurt.

She has been goven blood thinners today because in the midst of all of her struggles she has also developed blood clots somewhere along the lines. She is still the miracle we prayed for and we'd rather have her here with us than gone, but we truly don't want her to suffer.

The request to you for today is to pray that God not only grant the miracle (which He has already shown himself faithful to do) but that he take the pain and these horrible memories away.

Remember to cherish the children with which you have been blessed. While you're tired of hearing your babies cry, yell and make messes, we long for that from our Brooky. Just to hold her would be enough to make our day and hers. We know it's to come but this wait is virtually unbearable. Thank you for continuing to fight and pray for us. We can feel it as we get weak.

Although Brooklyn has been fighting a little high temperature today she is still holding on. She is being weaned from some of her pain meds and we are praying she will be able to sustain without them. Thanking God for her progress and we are loving the fact that the hospital staff keeps coming in to say they can't believe she is still here. GOD IS AMAZING! We thank him for yet another good day.
