Brian has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, also called Glioblastoma Multiforme or Astrocytoma grade IV. In other words he has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Brian will begin treatment next week in Cleveland Ohio, that will continue for 6 weeks.
Please give us time to adjust to the devastating news we have been given, and respect our time left together.
Thank You
Sherri Wolff

On June 1st 2015, Sherrill, New York native Brian was admitted to Faxton Hospital for what they thought was a mini stroke.

Since he has been admitted to other hospitals, such as Upstate, and currently in Cleveland Ohio with still no diagnose.

In the meantime, Brian has several lesions on his brain,  with one on the brain stem, growing at a very rapid rate.

His health has been rapidly declining since June, leaving him very unsteady on his feet, difficulty swallowing, very slurred speech, sloping face, weakness on right side of body, and sleeping almost non stop.

I am pleading for help for this wonderful, and always giving of themselves family.

Sherri Wolff his wife, is acting as sole provider and caregiver.

While trying to run her business Groom Station in Sherrill, she is also taking care of their 26yr old special needs son fulltime, and now Brian, traveling to other states for answers and treatment.
Not leaving much time to make much of a financial living.

Ironically, Sherri and I met during the Great Oneida Flood, while both out there on the front lines helping those at their lowest moments, giving of ourselves, to those in desperate need.  We have since become great friends.

It is our time to give back to her and her family.
Please help with traveling, food, and hotel expenses. Every little bit counts!

Thank You,
Wendy McClure

On September 3rd, under the advice of our family physician, my father and I left for the Cleveland Clinic. Little did we know that we would end up spending almost two months there in hopes of making Brian well. On September 8th after many tests and scans, we were advised that they would need to do a biopsy of the "lesion" on Brian's brain stem. After discussing all of the risk involved in both not doing and doing, we decided we needed to agree to having it done. On September 10th Brian went in for surgery (one of the longest days of my life). The next day (ironically) 9-11, we received the news that Brian had "Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade IV (GBM)", in other words brain cancer. My world shattered into a million pieces that day. Everything became a blur after that. Only a few words stuck out, that will haunt me for the rest of my life,"terminal", "12-14 months", "Chemo" and "Radiation". The following week Brian began his treatments, and shortly after he entered the acute rehab center. While there he received physical, occupational and speech therapy. He also developed a pulmonary embulum (blood clot in the lung), which resulted in 3 days in the ICU. On Thursday October 8th Brian was finally released from the hospital. We spent four days in a hotel while we waited for a room to be available at Hope Lodge. Even though we were only there for a couple of weeks, we meet some wonderful people that will be lifetime friends. We shared tears, stories full of sorrow and memories, hugs and laughter. On Monday October 19th my world was shattered yet again. Brian's oncologist told me we had 4-6 months or less and to call in hospice as soon as we arrived home. On Friday October 23rd my father and our daughter made their last drive to Cleveland to bring Brian and I back home to cherish every single second we have left.

I spoke with Sherri on the phone last night, and I was in awe at her strength and determination to get Brian well enough to come back home to CNY, in the next few weeks.
With everything the Wolff family is going through right now, Sherri still had it in her to concern herself with, and console me. To let me know that she is thinking of me, and what I have endured this past six months with the loss of both parents.

Sherri is one of the most generous, giving, compassionate, and by far the strongest woman I have ever had the honor and privilege of knowing.

I don't believe that we were brought together by accident back during that flood.

Sherri I love you and admire you, I am anxious for Brian & your return to be able to return the favor of you taking care of my Momma when she needed you most.

Your friend always Wendy.

Friends, please continue to share and donate to this wonderful family

A wonderful update on Brian. Today he was able to walk without his walker in physical therapy. He is starting to smile again and we're also seeing some of his humor in things return. He's tolerating the radiation and chemo very well so far, with very few side effects.

Monday evening Brian had a little set back. He was a bit confused and having difficulty breathing. After a few test we found out that he had a blood clot in his lung. Brian was then admitted to the ICU. After being treated with blood thinners he is doing much better and should be returning to the acute rehab very soon.
