Brian is my  13 year old son who has Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Chiari Malformation Type 2, nystagmus, scoliosis, and neurogenic bladder.

He has a vp shunt as a result from the hydrocephalus.

He wears AFOs to help him balance and wears a back brace 16+ hours a day for his scoliosis.

He looks like every other child, he is high functioning which is great.

He recently got diagnosed with depression and anxiety.
He attends the Partial program at our Childrens hospital for that. He has 2 to 3 weeks left if not more.

Driving back and forth everyday, 4 times a day has taken a toll. We could use some help  with gas....we are using 1 car since my husbands van is just about dead so any help with a vehicle woud be fantastic!

Anything raised will be put towards Brians meds, orthopedic shoes, transportation and anything else he may need to make all these appointments and life
easier.

Thanks for listening! <3

WOW, its been awhile. Camp, vacation, birthdays, and then school starting. Lets start of with vacation. It was WELL needed after everything that has happened. It also helped Brian come out of his shell alittle. He went down the Alpine slide ALONE...last year he was to small. He went down a water slide alone, did the wave pool...even went into the scary caves at the Lost Gorge. It was AMAZING as his parents to see him doing stuff on his own. Now that school has started, well, we kinda run into the same troubles as we always have. Teachers not really understanding the iep......homework expectations....plus teen boy issues. We now have Gateway coming to hopefully work with him and also a new psychiatrist to adjust meds once again. Thank you all for your support! We have an IEP meeting coming up next week so please keep us in your thoughts. I will post some pics of Brian having fun!

Well, Brian has been doing alittle bit better. We are still adjusting meds. Now e are going back and forth to Newport for camp. His first day was the most active I have seen him in a long time. We are hopefully taking up to New Hampshire for a vacation soon. Next week is a bunch o Ultrasounds and MRIs so we will wait to see what those say. Thanks again for the support!

I want to thank EVEYONE for everything you have all done for us. Brian is done with Partial but we are far from over. We have numerous appointments for Xrays, Ultrasounds and MRIs coming up. We also need to figure out what meds will work best for the adhd and depression. He may be having a botox surgery to help his bladder but we wont know or sure until sometime in late July. Thanks for everyone's thoughts!!!! He did get to go to his 8th grade social last night and also his 8th grade promotion field trip today. Lots of work will be done over the summer to lift his spirits and get him more involved in things. Summer camp in Newport starts in a few weeks and he LOVES it there. So, the last 2 days have seemed to go well. Brian has attended school for a couple of hours and then goes to partial for the rest of the day. He seems happy to be back but mornings are still a struggle. He still has unexplained back pain and we cant find a med that will work for him. HOPEFULLY he will be discharged early next week. Thank you al again for all of your support. The next few weeks will be a challenge but I think we can do it.
