Belvoir Elementary School is located in Greenville, North Carolina, a few miles down the road from where I attend East Carolina University. My classmates in my graduate program are prospective teachers, and we are embarking on a community service project--a book drive to collect books for these children.
Belvoir Elementary serves a rural community in Pitt County, and when it comes to resources for these students, the need is great. Most classrooms don't have enough books for their students. Teachers often spend much of their own limited incomes, but there is only so much that they can do.
Our book drive will be held on July 21st. We will collect children's books (K-5) for most of the day at two different locations. These books will go directly to the classrooms at Belvoir Elementary and into the hands of students who need them.
For those of you unable to donate books, this page is for you. Would you be willing to support our cause with a donation? We plan to use 100% of the money we raise here to buy additional books to add to the drive. Your contribution will provide books to students from low-income families--students who love reading and are eager to learn.
Thank you so much for your help!
