The BLUE COLLIE Coffee Shop will be a host site where students with intellectual and developmenal disabilities
from our rural North Carolina county will have a chance to experience work and interface with our local community in a small business setting.
Rural, low wealth counties like Franklin County NC are deserts when it comes to opportunities for kids in our schools (and after they finish school programs).
The Z.B. Collie Charitable Foundation is in the process of refurbishing and remodeling what had been an abandoned sandwich shop in Louisburg, North Carolina. The foundation has always been a scholarship source for local students. Our town and county have few opportunities for students with intellectual and developmenal disabilities, and ZB Collie Foundation decided to roll the dice and try to set up just such an opportunity!
Turns out, replacing the floor alone will cost $5322.21 and a commercial coffee gear will cost $5445. We have been getting volunteer help, but really need help with the floors and coffee gear, so we can get up and running.
Since ZB Collie Foundation is a 501C(3) approved charity, any contributions are completely deductible as charitible contributions!
