William Kanaeholo Memorial

Donation protected
Billy Kanaeholo, "Ape," was a good man. There is no denying that; everyone who knew him inevitably loved him. Sadly, as many of you are aware, he has passed away, far too early. He has left a big gap from the lack of his presence, but his was a life to be celebrated for all the aloha he shared with everyone he met.

That is why his family and friends will gather at AJA Hall in Hilo, Hawaii on March 18, where his life will be commemorated with stories, songs, and most importantly, ohana- family, biological and by choice, sharing their love for him and for one another.

A customary aspect of Hawaiian memorial customs, in lieu of flowers, is to give a monetary gift to the surviving family. While we know there are many who would like to participate in this custom, distance makes this difficult. This distance is not surprising, as Billy made friends wherever he went, and those friends are all over the world. That is why we have established this account. There is no goal; there is only the opportunity for those who would like to participate to do so.

In the wake of Billy's passing, it has been a gift to us to hear all of your stories of how this amazing man impacted your life. We thank you for sharing with us. We thank you for your love and support. We thank you for your prayers. May we all remember that Billy may not be with us anymore, but he will always be with us: in our hearts and memories.
