Help Pay Bears Medical Bills

Hi, I’m Tanina, my husband NEIL and I live in Rye and watched a horrible story on the news of a beautiful dog called Bear, being stabbed. This happened only a few kilometers from where we live and we got in touch with the owner Damien to ask if we could help..... So this has been set up to help with the medical bills. I will post updates.THE STORY by the owner Damien:Please helpDog stabbed: left to diePoint Nepean Road , Capel Sound/ Rosebud West (Mornington Peninsula, VIC.On Saturday 29th September (Grand Final Day) between the hours of 1:00pm and midnight my poor dog Bear was savagely attacked with an extremely sharp object. Possibly a machete, sword or similar. He was struck with such force on the forehead that it sliced his head open and left an indentation in his skull. He was also stabbed in the left foreleg. It was so deep it cut through the tricep tendon and muscle, all the way to the bone. He was then left to die.When I arrived home at midnight I noticed Bear was not in the backyard and the gate was open. I was searching for him everywhere. Calling his name out but he was no where to be seen. I jumped in the car and drove up and down Point Nepean road between Rye and Capel Sound in search of him. My fear was he was hit by a car. I then returned home and was calling his name. He managed to walk himself out of where he was hiding in the neighbours front yard. He could barely walk and was bleeding from his head and foreleg. I picked him up and rushed him inside. It was like a murder scene with blood dripping everywhere. I thought he had been hit by a car at first. I rushed him to the emergency vet where they stabilised him and gave him pain killers. Upon closer examination by the vet it was noted that he was not hit by a car and it was not a blunt object that cause the injuries. Instead it was a very sharp object that had inflicted these injuries on him. Bear has had to undergo surgery to stitch his forehead and foreleg, as well as re attached his completely severed tricep tendon.He may never fully recover from these physical injuries and psychological trauma.Bear is an incredible dog and is part of a breeding program from Garsova Kennels, who breeds dogs for the Police.
