Baron von Remmel Music CD Production

Remmel Charles Wilson Jr. “Baron von Remmel” died on June 11, 2015.  He was a world class saxophonist with a degree from North Texas State University in Jazz Education. He has two CD’s selling around the world.
“I Thought About You” and “Alone Together” a tribute to Paul Desmond.

Over the years, Remmel was a performer, a jazz educator, and private music instructor. He appeared in show rooms, lounges and night clubs, performing not only as a musician but also as a music director and show producer in the Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Las Vegas areas. He performed and/or recorded with such music greats as Abby Lane, Billy Preston, Larry Collins, Surprise Package, Wayne Newton, Rubber Biscuit Blues Revue, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Temptations, Melissa Spangler, B.J. Thomas, Little Anthony & the Imperials, and the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

Special performances included the 1983 Bob Hope Desert Classic in Palm Springs, the 1997 Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas, and opening for bill Cosby at UC Stanislaus. Remmel played at Bill Clinton’s Inaugural Ball when he was elected Governor of Arkansas. He was a member of the Reno orchestra for the Broadway Musical “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” and music arranger, assistant Music Director and featured soloist for the Reno Hilton musicals “Work That Skirt” and “Escape”. He collaborated and performed with McAvoy Layne (The Ghost of Mark Twain) in the production of “Nevada Story”.

He  was currently working on a new CD “Tunes for Tonto, On the Edge”. The CD was especially created for his astronaut friend Reid Wiseman, who took it to the space station and played it during his six month stay there.

After spending 9 years with Remmel, as his widow, I know how important it was to him to finish this CD. My desire is to raise funds to complete the CD project and promote the sale of the CD.  A percentage of the monies from the sale of the CD will go into the “Remmel Wilson Music Scholarship” for North Tahoe High School, where he taught jazz for a brief time, and to a 2nd fund the  “Remmel C. Wilson Memorial Scholarship Fund” in Little Rock AR, where Remmel grew up.

Won’t you please contribute to keep his music alive and to inspire young musicians to pursue their goals.
