Baby Penelope Jean

Our sweet baby girl Penelope was born on May 11th with a benign Fibrosarcoma tumor on her right cheek. It came as quite a shock as none of her ultrasounds revealed any such thing occurring. It’s hard and firm to the touch as it sometimes can make feeding and laying down a little more difficult.
Thankfully it isn’t currently affecting her ear, nose, eye or throat regions. However after being in and out of Children’s Hospital since she’s been born, her doctor’s have observed it growing in size as they were hoping it would be doing the opposite.
We know she’s in good hands at the hospital with the team of doctors she has been fortunate enough to be under the care of.
After weeks of biopsies and MRIs they have come up with a treatment plan to help shrink the tumor to make the inevitable surgery not so complicated. She has Chemotherapy treatments every week for the next 6-12 months. She’s going to be receiving Vincristine, Cyclophosphamide and Dactinomycin in hopes it will have a positive affect on her tumor.
She’s doing well otherwise as her eating and weight gaining is excellent. Sleeping has been a constant battle as the side effects from her chemotherapy take their toll on her.
We ask for any generosity towards her treatment as the medical bills continue to weigh on our family.
