Family Flood Recovery Fund


Like many people in the Baton Rouge area, our family has lost much to the unexpected flood. 83% of residents here had NO FLOOD INSURANCE because we don't live in a flood zone. The mortgage company even agreed with this assessment, because it had never flooded here in RECORDED HISTORY (approximately 500 years)!

Our family lost the following things: the cars, the house, the furniture, washing machine, dryer, family photos, shoes, books, home movies, TVs, clothing, and more things than we can count.

We are raising money for our family to replace the basics, and to clean and repair our home. Specifically, we need appliances (washer/dryer), and furniture (bed/sofa/kitchen table/chairs), and cleaning supplies (shop vac/cleaning fluids/shop brooms/mops/buckets).

We are thankful to anyone that can donate even a single dollar, because even that can help buy cleaning supplies. It means so much to our family. Thank you for helping any way that you can!

All money raised goes to the Richards family, of which I am a member. This is not a public charity, but a private rescue effort for one family's home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where our home is. All funds will be given to me, Randy Richards, to disburse as I see fit.

It is my plan that money will be spent on recovering from the flood damage. This includes, but is not limited to, blankets, pillows, food, toilet paper, mattresses, box springs, cleaning supplies, repairs to walls and floors, anti-mold spray, miscellaneous house bills, and to replace necessary major appliances (washer, dryer, etc).
