BASIS Peoria Robotics Worlds 2017

Donation protected
Update as of 4/9/17: We've reached our goal! Thank you so very much to everyone who donated and helped make this trip possible! We have registered, reserved our hotel rooms, and bought our plane tickets, so we will be going.

Robotics is a very expensive club, so we will still be accepting donations. If you want to fund our next project, next year's trip to Worlds (fingers crossed!), or even give us some money for food other than bagels at Worlds, we will gladly accept your donation. However, we ask that, because GoFundMe charges a substantial fee on every donation, you donate directly to the school through this online form. Just make sure that you put "Robotics" in the Applicable Activities box, or else we can't use your donation.

Thank you!

Two of the robotics teams at our school have qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship, a robotics competition between the 500 best robots in the world. However, the competition is in Louisville, Kentucky. We estimate that between transportation, lodging, food, van rental, registration, and transporting the robots and parts, we will need approximately $15000 to compete. The tournament is from April 19 - April 22, so we'll need the funds within the next two months.

In the past 2 years, our teams have garnered 6 Tournament Championship trophies (including winning the State Championship), 1 Build award, 1 Design award, and 1 Excellence award; the highest award given in VEX tournaments. We have also won Robot Skills Champion three times. At the 2016 US Open National Tournament, our team performed well enough in the round robin competitions to qualify for the elimiation rounds. In addition, our team has the 5th highest Robot Skills score in the entire state.

If you're an Arizona resident, you can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state income tax for donating directly to our club (not through the GoFundMe). The maximum dollar amount is determined each year by the Arizona Department of Revenue. Currently, those amounts are up to $200 for individuals and $400 for married couples filing jointly.

Caveat: Make SURE that you write that the donation is for Robotics, else we can't use the funds.

You can donate directly to the school by mailing them this form or by filling out this online form. If you send a check, make it out to BASIS Peoria, and put Robotics in the memo line.

By donating enough money, we can give you some recognition in the club. If you donate $100 or more, we'll put your name on the shirts we wear to competitions. If you donate $200 or more, we'll send you one of our Robotics shirts. If you donate $500 or more, we'll put your logo on the shirts we wear to competitions. And if you donate $1000, we'll put your logo on our competition robots.

Thank you so much!
