My name is Jovanna Hernandez and my family is from San Juan Pilcaya, Puebla. I made this Go FundMe account to help all the victims from my mom's hometown. My family and I will be traveling to Pilcaya to buy and deliver the materials the victims need. Please read below for more details.
This GoFundMe account is to help affected families in San Juan Pilcaya, Puebla, Mexico. It is a small town in the municipality of Chiautla de Tapia. It's not a big city and the necessary help is not fast enough.
San Juan Pilcaya is located 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the epicenter of the earthquake. Approximately 85% of homes are no longer suitable for living. People are sleeping outside their homes. They do not want to leave their homes for fear that people might steal their belongings.
The money that is collected will be used to buy the necessary materials for the town. We don't know how soon the government will arrive with help. We can't wait too long because it is starting to rain and the people need help now.
