Rhiannon and Ayla's Medical Fund

This household has been bombarded with challenges over the last 2 years.  Between struggling with Ayla's constant medical needs and now the devastating news of Rhiannon's diagnosis of Lung Cancer, they aren't sure how much more they can bare.  Below is Ayla's story, with Rhiannon's diagnosis being new, not much information is known at this time, but we will learn more as the time goes on.

Ayla is a beautiful, strong, and brave  2 year old.

She was born 5 weeks early, after months of bedrest for Mommy.  Ayla spent 3 days in the NICU at birth.  At 3 weeks old, Ayla stopped stooling.  At 1 month old she underwent her first surgery, an analplasty.   Ayla began losing weight at an alarming rate.  She underwent her 2nd surgery and had a G-tube and Nissen placed when she was 3 months old.  On Valentines Day she was readmitted after violently ripping her Nissen loose from vomitting.   Resulting in a G-J Tube placed at 6 months.  Ayla currently gets 24 hour continuous feeds, and is only allowed 1 oz orally.  Ayla has extremely sensitive nerves in her tummy that cause pain from feeling full, hungry, or even just the slightest stretching when eating.  She is currently working on learning to eat, and swallow in eating/speech therapy.  She also in physical therapy to gain the abilty to use her belly muscles to move.

Ayla has suffered from severe GERD, Problems swallowing, dyspepsia (sensitive nerves in her tummy), and constipation.

Ayla has gone under general anesthesia 4 times, and has spent over a month combined at the Children's Hospital of Illinois, the bills are piling in.

Ayla undergoes Occupational therapy once a week for Sensory Processing Disorder, and speech therapy to help develop her language skills.

Having a Medically complex child does not allow for Mom to work as it would cost more in child care fees then she could bring in.  Not to mention the multiple doctors, and therapy visits every week that would require Mom to leave work.  

Mommy manages Ayla's medical care while staying home to take care of her and  her 4 year old brother, Wyatt.  Mommy and Daddy are doing everything they can, but aren't able to keep up with the medical bills pouring in.  Any amount you are able to contribute is phenominal and will help so much!
