Help us "Give the Gift of Mental Health"! The statistics for children in need of mental health care are staggering. "Axis Angels" is an organization that supports children in need of mental health treatment in the Atlanta and surrounding areas, where over 800,000 families live below the poverty line.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 in order to provide 100 FREE initial mental health assessments to children who are unable to afford the cost of #Mental Health treatment due to poverty or lack of insurance.
This campaign will begin January 1st, 2019 and run through March 31st, 2019. A donation of $250 sponsors the cost of the initial assessment, but ANY amount helps and is greatly appreciated! 100% of the proceeds goes towards the child receiving care. This need is urgent because mental health disorders effect how a child learns, how they think, and how they manage throughout the day.
Research has shown that 20% of children between the ages of 13 - 18 yrs old have a mental health illness. 70% of these children never receive treatment, and the numbers increase for children living in poverty or those in a non-English speaking household. Increasing access to mental health care allows for early assessment and reduces the secondary effects of undiagnosed concerns. Your donation will help bridge this gap, IMMEDIATELY!
