This is a fund to help with medical expenses for Audrey. She's on an experimental type of chemo and pain meds that are pricey, but they're working! She's getting better!! She just celebrated her 12th birthday too.
I'll put some history below. The goal of this is to help with her medical expenses, maybe raise enough to have a wheelchair ramp installed or something else helpful. Every dollar helps. Also! This is in addition to another charity show we are doing on May 6th! It'll be at the East Room in Nashville. I'll post an update on that as it gets closer. Anyone who donates $10 or more is granted access to that show. Thank you in advance! The generosity of people like you really helped this amazing family last year!
On April 9, 2014, Audrey had a stroke-like episode at school and was taken to the ER. An MRI confirmed a mass on her brain. On Monday, April 14, she underwent surgery for a biopsy on the tumor. She was allowed to go home on Tuesday to rest and recover. We were expecting the results of the biopsy in 7-10 days, but on Friday, April 18, the doctor called with the results. Audrey has been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer known as an olidendroglioma that is even more rare in children than adults.
At the beginning of October 2014, I began work as an in-home caregiver for Audrey and her big sister Katie. Over the course of my work for them, Audrey has had to be hospitalized more than ten times as of now. Even with the best insurance, those bills add up. So, I am starting this page to help Audrey and her family. Any donations here go directly to them. They are a strong, loving family who handles this struggle with grace and dignity. They deserve some relief from (at least) their financial stress.
