Sooo I was super against the idea of creating this campaign but a bunch of people have suggested it so here we are. Haha. Everyone is aiming to grab your dollar but you could really make a difference in quite a few lives if you can help.
In the past six months...
If you've been watching, we've been making some really fun content for our YouTube channel. It's grown a lot. To 32,000 subscribers in less than six months, with 18 million views and 220 million monthly impressions.
We're in production on our Call of Duty live action parody series, Modern Wardudes and plotting out the production of multiple short films, along with a commentary/podcast series and a behind the scenes series.
Luckily we've been able to do it without actually having a camera. Every piece of content you've seen from us in the past year has been created on using borrowed or rented gear, the lights, the lens, the locations, the props and nearly everything else. It gets expensive.
Our goal...
With the channel, we want to prove that we are capable of creating cinematic videos on a decent budget. This encourages companies to work with us to create commercials and helps us practice for the eventual step into larger productions.
This isn't just about one person, it's about helping the careers of multiple talented people, all of whom make the Ascender content possible. You've seen what we've been able to create and now we want to step up our game.
If you've seen anything posted on my social accounts... it's all borrowed gear.
It's the biggest hurdle for us as we can't just go out and make the cinematic quality content we are striving to achieve without a decent camera.
Enter the Blackmagic Pocket Camera 6K...
It costs $2400 and it's the best camera. A Super 16MM sensor, an EF mount and by using it's 6K Raw capabilities we're future proofing our content. We've been renting and borrowing this beautiful little piece of equipment for the past six months to film everything on our channel.
We'll soon have access to a cine lens for this camera, we have a really nice rig and camera cage but we can't afford the actual camera.
But we have a plan...
Here's our super genius plan and a camera makes it possible:
Jan - June
· Film 20 more episodes of Modern Wardudes.
· Weekly Behind The Scenes/Bloopers videos.
· Filmmaking gear review series.
· Pop Culture Commentary series.
· Collaborate with various brands to create advertising/commercials.
· Film 3 short films. One for festival, one original and one fan film.
· Use the short films and Wardudes to get funding for an indie film.
· Shoot the sizzle reel for the indie film.
· Film our first feature for digital release.
· Use the feature to pitch a series for Netflix.
In exchange for helping us...
· Your name will be in the credits of every single project we work on for the next year.
· You will receive dedicated shout outs in various videos.
· You will be heralded as a god and we will dedicate a small shine in your honor.
Then we pay you back...
We're not kidding, consider this campaign a loan. The first check we get, be it from a film festival, brand deal or ad revenue we will pay back anyone who has contributed to the campaign.
This isn't a joke. This is actually what we'll do.
He just need your help temporarily and if you can help us get a camera you will be changing the course of our careers and lives.
