Alsalamu 'Alaykum
Imagine building a masjid, to serve 12 villages, at the cost of only £15,000 for an A-Z project? WAllahi a lifetime opportunity for a sadaqa jaariya.
"When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah, a knowledge (of Islam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du'a for him."
Narrated by Muslim
We are fundraising to rebuild a Masjid in Nigeria, in an area called Apapa Odan, in Oyo state, to serve 12 villages that only have access to one dilapidated (run down) small Masjid. The building also serves as a school teaching Quran, Arabic and Islamic studies.
This project is being done withThe Muslim Public Affairs Centre, a local Islamic Centre in Nigeria.
The full project from beginning to end will cost just under £15,000. This wil include funding for:
- Rebuilding the Masjid to a good standard
- Adding a borehole next to the Masjid, to help those attending the masjid to have access to water more efficiently, as they need to keep going to a local stream. The borehole will be accessible to everyone and not just those attending the masjid.
- Expanding the Mens prayer area
- Expanding the Womens prayer area
- Adding toilets and wudhu facilities for Men and Women
This is £13,070.32 for the Masjid
The borehole (to provide water more efficiently) will cost N400,000.00, which is roughly£1321.13
Bringing the ultimate total to £14,391.45. The remainder 608.55 will go towards transfer costs, and also making a small video clip about the project.
Please share this with family and friends, and remember .."the one who guides towards a good deed is the same as the one who is doing it."
[Al Tirmidhi, Classified as Saheeh by Al Albani]
Let us make this an investement for our aakhira, and give our brothers and sisters in Apapa Odan and the 12 Villages a better, cleaner and safer place to fulfill their religous duties.
If you have any questions about this project, please do contact me.
