Rally for Annie, Courageous Fighter
Almost 6 years ago, my beloved sister Annie was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer. She was just 35 years old at the time and in prime physical condition, running countless miles every week in her never-ending quest to race her personal best. 
The initial diagnosis shocked Annie, her family, and friends to the core. Being a fierce competitor and with her typical warrior spirit, Annie faced the cancer head-on and continues to courageously fight every day. She amazes us with her strength, determination, and will. Cancer chose the wrong person to mess with.
As you would imagine, Annie has been through countless procedures, rounds of chemotherapy, consults and appointments over the past 6 years. She has sought and received care from some of the most renowned cancer centers in the US.
The financial burden of being unable to work during her treatments, in addition to supporting and continuing to raise four beautiful and active children, has resulted in the accumulation of $5100 in outstanding medical bills related to her cancer therapies.
At the beginning of each year, Annie's out of pocket maximum for her health insurance resets, requiring her to pay $8000 out of pocket before full coverage takes over. The expense of her cancer treatments has resulted in her having to pay this $8000 max out of pocket each year since her diagnosis, and this year will be no exception as she has been hospitalized for 4 days already in January, and will be requiring additional treatments and therapies that will continue to place a financial burden on her and her family.
Annie continues to fight bravely, and is hopeful to seek treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Our goal for Annie is simple: to relieve the financial burdens related to her cancer diagnosis. Specifically, we hope to raise $5100 to pay off the outstanding medical bills, raise $8000 to cover her out of pocket healthcare expenses related to her recent hospitalization/procedures and upcoming treatments, and to raise $1000 to cover travel expenses for her future appointments in Rochester. In an effort to allow Annie to focus on her health and her family, I will be responsible for working directly with the creditors and institutions owed and will be using all GoFundMe proceeds to pay off Annie's bills on Annie's behalf, and in doing so all GoFundMe funds will be distributed from a checking account in my name. Our goal is to have the funds raised for Annie and her family by the end of February.
