Starting this to support Anna’s legal fund in pursuing the following and to make it very clear, this wasn't intended to be a trial, crucifixion, or turn into anyone being sued. Anna wanted to vent, and have a voice and publish her story because it was emotionally draining, and she knew what others had gone through here as well. She debated for over a week about publishing it on social media. It wasn’t about bringing them down, it wasn’t about anything other than voicing her experience to hopefully prevent it in the future, instead of apologizing they ridiculed her further, publicly, then deleted it. All they had to do was apologize to any and all present and past employees, own up to their faults and say they would attempt to resolve the situation. Instead the owner of the business attempted to defame Anna by saying it was her “sexual shenanigans” and discredit her by saying she “was dealt a bad hand”. Then they decided to lawyer up and release a statement at an attempt to get out of the hole they dug themselves. In turn resulting in Anna needing to hire a lawyer. Her story in her words follows.
”I am a former employee of STREET in Portsmouth, NH. I was being harassed, both personally and sexually, by some of my coworkers for the past 8 months. This has ruined not only my professional position at STEET but my personal relationships as well. I took the initiative to approach management because I felt unsafe at work and the retaliation against me was utterly unprofessional and sexist. I was asked to sign a lenghtly contract full of illegal and entirely sexist demands, including increased security/supervision both on and off the clock, if I wanted to keep my job. I asked if the other party (the harasser) would also be signing a contract, and to see said contract to ensure that as the victim, I was not the only one being held to strict and ambiguous behavioral standards. I was then threatened to have the police called on me if I appeared on the premises again, etc. for trying to speak out against the harassment I was facing, and for pursuing transparency in the matter.”
The fund will be going towards legal fees in pursuing the matter, this is a well known business where the owners most definitely can afford a legal team that most can not.
