Angie's Battle

Don’t know how to even start Angie’s story as it still seems unbelievable. It still seems like a bad dream for a family to go through. Just to see your child suffering in pain and can’t do nothing about it , but just ride along with her battle and swallow all those tears you wish to let out but you can’t because as a parent, we have to be strong for our children even though they really are stronger than us.

Angie is 7 years old and is the third child out of 4. Angie was taken to children’s hospital emergency room for shortness of breath expecting it to be something with her asthma and instead she was diagnosed with cancer, sporadic Burkitt lymphoma

on September 13, 2018 and since then has gone through 3 surgical procedure that ended up sending her to icu on a ventilator for 10 days. Due to this fast growing cancer Angie developed a tumor on her abdomen that was crushing her lungs and had also developed fluid on her lungs as well and did not allow her little lungs to expand to be able to breath. The cancer has developed another tumor on her Right side of her neck witch caused two big blood clots and now has to be taking a medication called heparin (blood thinner). Also Angie developed high blood pressure and needs to be medicated for it as well. Angie will also be going through chemotherapy and will have to suffer through side effects that can be life threatening to my beautiful angel. Recently we had a cardiogram done (ultrasound of her heart) and found out that Angie has a double Aorta and will be needing heart surgery once she is strong enough to go through another surgical procedure .
The only good news out of this bad dream is that this type of cancer can be cured as long as Angie receives all her chemo treatments. Doctors believe that a Angie’s chemo treatments can take from 4 months to a year and has a high percentage to never come back. Angie and her family are asking for any donations that may help with treatments, medication , and financial expenses as I, Angie's mother, had to stop working to care for her. We are only depending on one income from my husband that is not enough to support Angie’s medical needs and a family of six. Our goal is to raise $50,000 any donations will be much appreciated and a tremendous help for Angie and her family. If there's any donations left over that Angie’s family did not need we are planning to donate the remaining to someone else in need who is also going through a battle.

Historia de Angie

No sé cómo comenzar la historia de Angie, ya que aún parece increíble. Todavía parece ser un mal sueño para una familia. Solo para ver a su hijo que sufre de dolor y no puede hacer nada al respecto, solo maneje su batalla y trague todas las lágrimas que desea soltar, pero no puede porque como padre, tenemos que ser fuertes para Nuestros hijos a pesar de que realmente son más fuertes que nosotros.

Angie tiene 7 años y es la tercera niña de 4. Angie fue llevada a la sala de emergencias de un hospital de niños por falta de aliento, esperando que fuera algo con su asma y, en cambio, le diagnosticaron cáncer y linfoma esporádico de Burkitt.

el 13 de septiembre de 2018 y desde entonces ha pasado por 3 procedimientos quirúrgicos que terminaron enviándola a icu con un ventilador durante 10 días. Debido a este rápido crecimiento del cáncer, Angie desarrolló un tumor en su abdomen que le estaba aplastando los pulmones y también había desarrollado líquido en sus pulmones y no permitía que sus pequeños pulmones se expandieran para poder respirar. El cáncer ha desarrollado otro tumor en el lado derecho de su cuello. El tumor en el cuello provocó dos grandes coágulos de sangre y ahora tiene que estar tomando un medicamento llamado heparina (anticoagulante). También Angie desarrolló la presión arterial alta y también necesita ser medicada. Angie también se someterá a quimioterapia y tendrá que sufrir los efectos secundarios que pueden ser potencialmente mortales para mi hermoso ángel. Recientemente nos hicieron un cardiograma (ultrasonido de su corazón) y descubrimos que Angie tiene una doble aorta y necesitará una cirugía cardíaca una vez que esté lo suficientemente fuerte como para pasar por otro procedimiento quirúrgico.
La única buena noticia de este mal sueño es que este tipo de cáncer se puede curar solamente que Angie reciba todos sus tratamientos de quimioterapia. Los médicos creen que los tratamientos de quimioterapia de Angie pueden demorar de 4 meses a un año y tienen un alto porcentaje para nunca regresar. Angie y su familia solicitan cualquier donación que pueda ayudar con tratamientos, medicamentos y gastos financieros, ya que yo, la madre de Angie, tuve que dejar de trabajar para cuidarla. Solo dependemos de un ingreso de mi esposo que no es suficiente para apoyar las necesidades médicas de Angie y una familia de seis. Nuestro objetivo es recaudar $ 50,000. Cualquier donación será muy apreciada y una gran ayuda para Angie y su familia. Si sobran donaciones que la familia de Angie no necesita, estamos planeando donar el resto a otra persona necesitada que también esté en una batalla.
