The Johnston Family's Story
( #helpthejohnstongirls )

Timothy (TJ) Johnston lost his life suddenly and tragically on Christmas Eve leaving behing the love of his life & wife of almost 7 years, Lynn Choranziak-Johnston, and their beautiful litte 4 year old daughter, Saoirse Belle, both absolutely devastated.

TJ was a search and rescue / EMS helicopter pilot who dedicated his life to saving others. He and Lynn, a Cardiac ICU nurse, have that in common.

Lynn, a native of Michigan, had just graduated from the University of Michigan with her hard earned nursing degree when she packed her car and drove to live and work in paradise, Florida's Space Coast. Her very first day in Florida, she walked onto the beach and met TJ for the first time. They had a fairytale romance and it was immediately undeniable that they were meant for each other.

TJ, 29, was born in Hong Kong and raised near Aberdeen, Scotland. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow before attending Bristow  pilot academy on Florida's Space Coast. He became a helicopter pilot just like his father. He was commited to work in Aberdeen, Scotland for three years after graduating.

Lynn and TJ got married right on that same beach where they had met & fallen in love. They began a lengthy UK visa application process & after four long months of being apart, Lynn was on a plane to Scotland to begin their life togehter as man and wife.

They were so overjoyed at the news that Lynn was pregnant with their amazing little girl, Saoirse Belle, now four years old. Saoirse is a beautiful scottish word meaning liberty.

TJ, Scottish as he may be, was truly American at heart. He loved this country with his whole heart. His brilliant mind was incredibly passionate towards this land. His dream was to complete his pilot contract in the UK and move his girls back to paradise, Florida's Space Coast where he met the love of his wife and indeed this dream came true.

They completely changed their lives within the past couple of years. TJ found work as a search and resuce/ EMS pilot in Michigan but that didnt keep him from living in the sunshine. He would commute from Florida to Michigan for work, a few weeks on followed by a few weeksoff. Travelling so much was hard on him but so worth it everytime he came home to his beautiful wife and daughter and their home by the beach. His income provided the opportunity for Lynn to care for their daughter rather than her growing up in childcare. She would still work hard, long overnight shifts as a Cardiac ICU nurse.

His death was unexpectedly sudden and has rocked Lynn & Saoirse's lives forever. Christmas will never be the same for this family, neither will any holiday or milestone. Little Saoirse's fifth birthday is January 9th and her only wish will not come true. She will always be her Daddybear's little Angelloo.

The harsh emotional reality that TJ is gone hasn't even set in yet and bill collectors are already knocking at their door. The girls were on TJ's health insurance policy which was cancelled on December 31st, only a week after he passed. Their current landlord will not provide them a break in rent. Lynn has over $30,000 in student debt form putting herself through nursing school. They have $20,000 in credit card debt accrued from moving internationally and providing for their little family. TJ's funeral cost $10,000. Both of their vechiles are leased and are threatened to be repossessed. There are many more financial concerns that they face.

They need to move from their current home but cannot afford their new home they were all supposed to move to together in February. Lynn and Saoirse are truly left homeless. A friend was able to put them in a nearby hotel with points and that is where they are living currently. Another close friend will be hosting them in the coming weeks while they try to find a new place to live. They have moving expenses and storage expenses in the meantime and no way to pay for them.

Lynn and Saoirse are on their own. There is no life insurance payout coming, TJ did not qualify due to being a new employee. Lynn doesnt qualify for FMLA or any paid leave for the same reason. TJ had not yet become a full US Citizen which adds a layer of complications for social security benefits. There isn't any family to rely on. They were each other's family. There is no plan b.

This sweet, kind and loving family needs time to rebuild their life. These  girls need our help to get through this unimaginable tragedy, without the added stress of wondering where the money will come from. Funds raised will go directly to funeral costs, accrued debt and to finding and moving into a new home where they can start over and try to rebuild their lives.

No donation is too small. Anything that you can give, whether it is $20 or sending prayers & love is so appreciated.

Please, please, please keep the Johnston Girls in your hearts. Share this campaign and spread their story.

A good, kind, loving, christian family needs our help. If the tables were turned they would be first in line to assist. TJ recently gave all of the cash in his wallet to a homeless man and the coat off his back because it was raining. What goes around comes around. Please step up and help.

They are forever grateful for your donations, prayers and kind words.
