Help The Anaheim White House
The 1909 Colonial-style mansion was converted into a restaurant now owned by Sir Bruno Serato, who FEEDS PASTA EACH NIGHT TO 2,000 POOR CHILDREN from the restaurant's kitchen. He has done so for more than a decade. Bruno is an Italian immigrant who came to the U.S. with $50 in his pocket and through hard work saved the money to open his restaurant 30 years ago. Bruno is known worldwide for feeding the children, finding housing for their families and helping at-risk youth land jobs in the hospitality field. He even mortgaged his own home during the recession to keep his charity work going.
Now he needs your help to rebuild the Anaheim White House with funds against his unrecoverable insurance claim. He has fire insurance, but it will not adequately cover the rebuild nor help his employees or charitable works. Please help us restore his dream.
I think we should augment this page to pay for the employees livelihoods that will be lost. Bruno has insurance for the restaurant and his business profits...I suspect Bruno will want to continue to pay the employees cannot find temporary work. That would be a great use for this money.
This is legit, Frank is a PR specialist and friend of Bruno's. He works with KFI and Bruno when they have the annual pasta drive. As you can imagine Bruno is devastated this is his life. He cares about the immediate future for his team and continuing to feed the children in need. Just at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Anaheim he feeds 150 - 200 kids every day.
i used to lived across street from there even before i couldn't afforded to eat there and now i can ...and also i can help them i will help this generous human we need to help .....its sad to learn about this .... i used to walk by and look in and never even dream about going in there and eat because i did have money to buy their food ... now i can afforded to help them
after watching Bruno speak to the news and seeing his broken heart more for his children, his patrons, and for his loved employees ...then his personal loss ...he broke my heart! And yet that is the reason he is so loved, truly one amazing man!!! Bruno has always cared about others first! Now may we all come to the help of these children, employees, and what ever it takes to keep his dream of feeding the children alive while he rebuilds his restaurant for all of us...love you you Bruno Gordon and Billie
We left CA about 5 1/2 years ago. But in the 17 years we were there, we visited the White House often. I loved their food, the service, and the ambiance . I am so proud of my coffee table cook book. So many memories. I sincerely hope Bruno rebuilds quickly. :'(
There is a whole lot of love on this site. I pray that much more love from our community - and those that love you and love ALL that you do for the children - keep coming your way, Bruno. God will provide, and you will rise again as a Phoenix - with the faith, hope and love that we all share with you.
My wedding reception was at the White House... and it truly makes me sad to read about the fire. My fiancé (now wife) and I searched a wide variety of places, but decided that the times we had spent together there before made it special, just for us. We have always been happy with the choice we made, and received nothing but compliments about the facilities. We'll never forget the help from the coordinators and staff, even when things were going wrong at the worst possible times during the reception. The end result turned out very right. Hoping to reserve dinner when it comes back.
I grew up in Orange County but have never eaten at the White House. I live abroad now and heard about this sad news online and through friends on FB. What an inspiring story and a wonderful man Bruno is! I hope when I come back for a visit, the restaurant will have reopened, as I definitely want to visit, meet Bruno, and taste his fabulous Italian cuisine. Courage, Bruno!
