Phil's Cancer Treatment Fund

The Pedrojetti's need our help!
Phil Pedrojetti has been diagnosed with stage III melanoma. Unfortunately, the out of pocket expenses for treatment are significant.
Phil Pedrojetti has been diagnosed with metastatic
Stage III melanoma and is going to begin treatment soon at the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center in Truckee, CA.
Phil has already undergone a lumph node disection (22 removed) in San Francisco, CA. When cancerous lymph nodes are found and there is evidence that the melanoma has spread to nearby lymph nodes, an additional surgery to remove the remaining lymph nodes from the area occurs and is standard treatment.
Soon, Phil will be begin immunotherapy treatment, a type of systemic therapy useful in the treatment of melanoma at high risk for recurrence and for metastatic melanoma. Immunotherapy treats the whole body by attempting to activate a person’s immune system so that it will destroy any melanoma cells within the body.
Melanoma is a particularly invasive cancer and unfortunately, it has a 50/50 chance of returning. Ana and Phil need our support! Please consider donating a small amount to their medical fund today to help offset the financial stress and debt that their out of pocket treatment expenses are going to incur.
What else can I do?
Get yourself screened annually! Melanoma is the most underfunded of all cancers by federal and private agencies. Early detection makes melanoma highly curable, but it is the least screened for cancer. People find their own melanomas more frequently than doctors do and melanoma detection is not a training requirement for most medical disciplines. Because most of us who know Phil and Ana live at altitude and spend a lot of time in the sun, it's imperative that we get checked frequently and routinely!
We need raffle prizes!
Are you a local business owner or artist? We will also be holding a fundraiser and raffle at the Divided Sky in Meyers on Feb 18th. Contact [email redacted] if you would like to donate raffle prizes to the event.
