Medical Emergency in Shanghai

Our sweet Amani (meaning "Faith" in Swahili) Marcia McDonald made her transistion to be with her Heavenly Father on April 1, 2016. Our greatest need at this time is that you undergird us with prayer. This is a difficult time for all of us who love her.
After an assualt by a Chinese citizen, Amani suffered a traumatic brain injury that was not diagnosed in a timely manner and she eventually slipped into a deep coma.
We will be sending her belongings home to the U.S., settling her affairs and working with attorneys in Shanghai as the investigation is started.
Amani's Shanghai Celebration of Life Ceremony was held on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Stateside funeral arrangements are yet to be made in accordance with Shanghai-US officials and approval.
We ask that you prayerfully consider giving a love offering to assist with:
-Shipping of belongings
-Stateside funeral and interment costs
-Legal fees (criminal and civil cases in China, witnesses, and forensic pathology in Shanghai)
As an English teacher, Amani touched many within her 8 months in Shanghai. She made friends quickly and endeared herself to her students and co-workers and made an impact within the artistic community.
Because of Amani's passion for both science (B.S. degree in Biology from Xavier Univ.) and creative arts (writing poems, singing, composing songs, dancing, drawing), any donations received beyond the expenses listed above, will be transitioned into the start of a scholarship fund for Atlanta-based (Amani's home town) students pusuing STEM or creative arts degrees.
