For all the angels wanting to help :

My name is Dominique and today we recieved the most heart renching news I think our family has ever recieved.  My 2  year old cousin Aiden has been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Son to my cousins Michelle and Joe, Aiden is a bright, happy, kind, and loving little boy.   He is the baby of 3, having 2 older sisters Ava and Layla.  With all the sisterly love,  Aiden has to be tough! We will get through this.

Having 2 Children of my own, I could not imagine recieving this kind of news.  And knowing that there isnt much to do to help, I thought that this might be a way we can all give a little in helping my family overcome this hiccup down the road.  Being in the Hospital the costs are going to add up, with missed work, transportation, food, bills, etc., but the most important thing is that Aiden won't be alone.

Myself,  Aiden and His Family Thank You in advance to taking a moment out of your day to support him. We know Aiden will fight this and all of your efforts and contributions are greatly appreciated!!

This is Aiden's Latest Update!! He is determined and so are we! Aiden has recently started his next phase of treatment, maintenance. In this phase Aiden has one week of steroids a month, Oral chemo daily, and a variety of other misc medicines to help him stay on track. He has a lot of good days mixed in with some bad. At this point they are trying to regulate his medicines to give him the best day to day possible. Every month we go in for chemo infusion, every other week we go in to check blood counts, and two months out of every three in the cycle include a spinal tap with methotrexate infusion in the spine. It is hard to explain how normal this routine has gotten (cancer should never be normal) but the truth is we are living in this alternate world where it is the norm. Aiden's immune system has to stay suppressed so that the leukemia will not again rear its ugly head.... for us (with two girls in elementary) this means extra hand washing, extra purell, and extra precautions that those germs don't spread too much at home. If Aiden spikes any kind of fever it is an automatic 48 hour stay in the hospital (at least).

Aiden's walking has been difficult from the start for us. In the beginning he lost his walking for a little over a month and had to relearn how to move. Throughout treatment he has been fighting with feet turning in, a wider gate while running, some hip swivel and drop foot. Most of this is side effect to the chemo medicines that are fighting the cancer. With that said we are now at the point when we will start physical therapy. We are hoping to correct some of this walking and running issue. Possibly some bracing to help turn his feet back to a more forward stance.

For now we are trying to keep Aiden as active as we can. Focus on family and keep everyone as healthy as possible. Between Karate (kids kicking cancer) and his sisters he keeps us on our toes!

All of your help has helped us make it through this journey, from medicines, to gas to the hospital, to medical bills, it has all been such a blessing and really has kept us able to move forward. Thank you isn't even enough, but we thank you... truly!!
