Homeless Kids Need Housing
Across America there are thousands of young people sleeping on our streets. Young People Matter (YPM)-Atlanta, founded in 2007, would like you to consider our campaign to open a youth shelter in Atlanta.
WHO
Since 2011, Young People Matter (YPM) has been one of the leading advocates for homeless youth (those who are on the streets alone without any parent or adult help). They are known as unaccompanied youth. We have provided services to over 4,000 youth and their families.
WHAT
YPM is creating the YPM Village in a downtown Atlanta neighborhood known as Mozley Park. The Village will consist of emergency youth housing, educational support, social services, recreational facilities and help deter juvenile crime.

Our young people get to live their dreams!
WHEN Our campaign is running through 2016 with the hope we can purchase a house by August 2016 when school begins.
WHERE Atlanta’s Mozley Park community will be home to the YPM Village. It is located three miles west of downtown Atlanta (I-20 MLK exit).
WHY
Our young people need us. There is not one place in Atlanta open 24 hours for young people in trouble. The YPM Village is poised to be the place where any young person can show up, anytime, day or night, and without reservation will receive help.
Our experience and proven methods of helping homeless youth shows a reductions in sex trafficking and reducing juvenile delinquency. The overall goal has been to help young people get back home to their families or into long term housing support (college campus, military, Job Corps, etc.)
