Art on the Avenues (AOTA) is a Wenatchee based non-profit organization which provides an outdoor exhibit of nearly 90 public sculptures in the Wenatchee community and the Beauty of Bronze (BoB) educational program. We are asking for help from the community to fund the 2017 Beauty of Bronze program.
Art on the Avenues funds BoB at no cost to the students using no tax dollars or city funds. As a 501C3 non-profit organization, AOTA is funded entirely through donations and grants. This is no easy task given that the size of the outdoor exhibit and the scope of the educational programming is much larger than is often found in a community the size of the Wenatchee Valley. AOTA must continually search and apply for grants and donations to fund the Beauty of Bronze every year as well as its regular ongoing administrative, operational and sculpture maintenance costs
The BoB program provides all Wenatchee fifth graders with an exceptional art/community experience which includes among other unique activities the opportunity for each child to create his or her own individual bronze sculpture under the tutelage of our professional Artist in Residence, Kevin Pettelle, culminating with a gallery exhibit for the students' work.
BoB started in 2004 with one fifth grade class. AOTA has been able to provide the program every year since. Today, every fifth grader in the Wenatchee School District, as well as those in private schools, are included. Last year over 600 children participated. However, without funding, AOTA will not be able to provide this opportunity to the fifth graders of 2017.
We are asking the community for support to help us reach our goal to fund the Beauty of Bronze program for the coming year.
