A Doctor's Battle with Cancer

On July 9, 2018, my dad was diagnosed with "High-Grade B-Cell Lymphoma Diffuse Type", otherwise known as a type of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. "High grade" meaning it is spreading rapidly.
My dad is a very hardworking Pediatrician in Chandler, Arizona. The health plan that he has, unfortunately, has limitations, exclusions and a long waiting period and will not cover any of his medical bills for this condition until September. With the aggressiveness of his lymphoma growing rapidly, treatment has to begin now. This is a fast-acting lymphoma, which requires fast-acting treatment.
Within this first week alone he already has incurred over $10,000 in medical bills for a heart IV port, echocardiogram, labs, CT scans, PET scan, ultrasound-guided biopsy, bone marrow biopsy, and doctor visits, and that is just the beginning. His first chemotherapy session is scheduled to begin next week July 20, 2018. His doctor said he will have to undergo a minimum of 6 sessions, averaging a total of $30,000 or more for the chemotherapy only. On top of being financially stressed with how expensive the medical bills already are, he is also worried about losing his only source of income and how he will support his family. My dad is heartbroken that he won't be able to care for his sick little patients because once he begins chemotherapy his immune system will become too weak to risk any exposure to them.
My world came crashing down a few days ago, and now reality is setting in. My parents are panicking trying to figure out how to afford the necessary treatments to help cure my dad. GoFundMe is a Godsend for me. The last thing I want my dad to worry about is lack of funds when he should be focusing on his health and getting better while undergoing cancer treatments. He is an amazing father of 6, a loving husband, and a hilarious Grandpa to 10 grandkids who absolutely adore him.
