ABANTU Tour 2019
My name is Albertina Thabisani Ncube. I am a 19 year old photographer and developing videographer originally from Zimbabwean but based in Perth, Australia.
During my journey back to Zimbabwe in 2017 I was inspired to create a documentary film called “Abuntu: People of Art”. The purpose behind the ‘Abantu’ (meaning ‘people’ in Zulu/Ndebele language) film is to highlight the lives of young creatives located across Zimbabwe. They discuss their artistry and the struggle of being young artists in Zimbabwe’s creative industry/scene. Despite; the doubt from their community which creates self doubt and the economic instability, they never lose sight of their vision.
In July 2019 the very first ‘ABANTU Tour’ will be hosted in Zimbabwe's two capital cities, Harare and Bulawayo.
The purpose of the tour is to have a day filled with creatives coming together, networking and showcasing their arts and creativity. Creating a platform for creatives to share ideas to better develop Zimbabwe's creative industry which is something that hasn't yet been done but needs to be highlighted.
The only way this can all happen is with your support!
This GoFundMe campaign has been made raise funds that will be used for the event which is planned to have over 100+ individuals coming together
from different cities.
The overall goal is to raise AUD$5,000 by April 2018. Funds raised will go towards creating merchandise, venues, performing artists and more.
Thank you for taking time to read the vision. Thank you for your donation. Thank you for the support.
