With all that is happening right now, AirCraft Aerial Arts (AAA) feels the urgency to support our communities in need and is making efforts to raise money for two local Boston-based charities: Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) and Community Works Boston (CWB).
Here are the two charities' mission statements:
BARCC- "The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is committed to giving survivors and their families and friends the resources they need to reclaim their lives and begin healing, to raising awareness of the issues survivors face, and to ending sexual violence through healing and social change." -http://www.barcc.org/information/
CWB- "Our goal is to develop a stable and growing source of support for our social justice member organizations through participation in the workplace giving campaigns, and through individual sustained giving contributions. CW supports its members through networking, training, technical assistance, and pooled resources. We are a member-directed federation. Each of our member agencies holds a seat on the board, and together our members decide on our priorities, spending, etc." -http://www.communityworks.com/about-us/mission/
On Saturday, February 25th AAA is hosting a Yard Sale/Bake Sale and Saturday, March 25th will be AAA's Staff Showcase, premiering finished works and works-in-progress based on the ideals of feminism, women empowerment, and community engagement.
**All the proceeds from these two events will be donated to BARCC & CWB.**
AAA wants to extend the fundraising efforts using GoFundMe to reach those who do not live in the Boston area and are not able to physically attend the above-mentioned events, but still wish to help the cause.
**GoFundMe donations and tickets to the show are two separate things. Both are donations; however, you will need to purchase a ticket to see the show on March 25th. In addition to raising money for BARCC & CWB, AAA needs to cover the costs of putting on the March 25th showcase. Anyone in the arts knows, performances are not cheap. We are very fortunate to have such amazing staff and students, that most of the costs we would have had to pay for have been graciously donated or significantly discounted. To give an idea of how much we are looking to raise, below is a detailed list of all the costs going into making the AAA staff showcase happen...
AAA March Show Budget (estimates):
Chairs: 125 chairs plus delivery: $300
Extra cleaning and other supplies: $100
Light board & rental - $200
Comping students for skilled volunteer work:$200

- sound
-photography
-videography
Graphic Design- $150
Flyer prints - $150 (printing 10 flyers + 100 postcards)
Total: $1100
We are selling tickets for about $20 each. If we sell out (100 seats x$20), we should raise $2,000 in tickets sales alone. Hopefully we can raise at least $500 (hoping closer to $1,000 but wanted to start low first) with this campain and at least $100 at the Yard Sale/Bake Sale. The ultimate goal is to raise $3,100 total from all fundraising efforts. This gives each charity a $1,000 donation, and we cover our show costs.
