Son in School I'm Disabled

I have been on Disability with 2 hip replacements from a disease that struck in 2007 and a bad lifer oilfield back.
     My second son just moved away from home for the first time to attend a school get a part time job, live with his older half brother and be making $17/hour when the one year education is complete, but he seems so scared and lost, like he's barley surviving, like he doesn't have a friend in the world. He said he was going to do what I taught him, about how to live cheaply, write down your income/outgo, keep a simple budget ect...
