Chips broken hip surgery

Hello everyone my name is jesus, I hope to raise some funds for my buddy Chip. He is a red Doberman Pincher on the older side, 9 years old I was told about 4 months ago when I got him.
I first saw chip online (craigslist)when I was looking to buy a pup. Chip was found in Stockton CA, I reached out to the person that had him but didn't get a reply, a couple months later the ad was back up but Chip was in Modesto CA now .
Chip had a wound on his paw and one leg looked injured, I asked about it and was told that he was kept in a kennel for the whole time he was in Stockton and was not getting along with her Doberman there in Modesto. I thought, okay he's been a bit neglected and has probably got into with this dog. I looked at the wounds and thought I can help him with this, doesn't look too serious. So my sister and I took him to his new home.
A few days later I took him to the vet and got his paw checked cause it was kinda of an open wound that he kept licking at. Chip was prescribed some meds to see if it would get better. He stopped licking but now a few months later started just yesterday, he started limping so I took him to the vet again and asked for him to get X-rayed, turned out his hip has been broken for sometime. He looks like he has suffered so much these past years, I saw it on his face when I first saw the ad on craigslist and had to help him, he looked so lonely and sad, thats when I decided the thing to do was helping this older dog in need instead of getting a pup.
Chip is a great dog and friend, chip deserves to relax and chill he has been through enough It breaks my heart to see him in pain. Unfortunately I am unemployed at the moment living in SF on UI benefits which after rent leaves enough for the bills and food for me and chip.
I know it was probably not the best decision to to get chip when I was just making it myself but sometimes you just want to help and I do hope to have work soon. I did not expect him to have a injury this bad and also pretty surprised at the cost of this procedure, that said I would not want to be the vet doing it, seem like a very complex fix to put it lightly .
If you live in SF or surrounding area I would be glad to provide my services in exchange for getting chip help. I do , handyman work, build,repair, projects on the smaller side, one man job type things. Need help on a project? I also do some Telecom install work like cabling and phone room builds, into dark wave music? need a dark wave DJ for an event ? I can do that for you. want to learn what I know about recording software like protools, Ableton and reason? I show you what I know.
If you feel like I did and still do please donate. Whatever you can do will help or some links to where I can possible get some help would be great also. The wonderful folks at SPCA are currently working with me to get me some more help I will have the surgery estimate tomorrow the vet says this hip break is a bad one and may run up to $4000 or more.
This would defiantly be life changing for chip, he loves running I could see it in him but unfortunately unable to properly do it and requires surgery. I thought about surrendering him so he can get the help he needs but I'm afraid maybe he wont qualify for rehoming due to his age and the severity of his injury. You can help me change that for chip I would like to give chip a place he can call home, he's an old guy but young at heart . Help me make the best out of his last years.
