Emily’s Fight against Cancer

Please take a minute to read about our dearest colleague, friend, sister, wife and mother, Emily.
At the age of 37, Emily recently received a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. Her lifelong dream was to have a family; after years of struggle, she finally received her greatest gift to date. She is an incredibly adoring and loving mother to Bentley who just turned 2 years old. As well as being devoted to her family, Emily is a dedicated registered nurse. Looking after patients in their most vulnerable of times came easy to Emily. She has spent years caring for and attending to the needs of others in many different settings from Vancouver to Toronto. Emily’s cancer is non curable. She is currently awaiting further testing to determine her best treatment options.
To walk a day in the life of a nurse is no easy feat; they give the ultimate sacrifice of family time and themselves to care for the needs and wellbeing of others. We ask for your support to help our beloved Emily as she embarks on the greatest fight of her life. Let’s show the compassion and empathy Emily so willingly and effortlessly gives to her patients each day. Any amount will help alleviate financial stress and burden while Emily is unable to work, as well as cover alternative therapies not covered by OHIP. Thank you for your support
