Four Rivers K9 Search Rescue & Recovery Team Inc. is a 501c3 organization that was founded in 2004.  Currently, we are a group of volunteers that train ourselves,  our dogs, and our horses in the area of search, rescue, and recovery.

We are very excited to announce that we are expanding!  We are scouring local animal shelters and rescue groups all over Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois, and Western Tennessee to help save lives.  These dogs will be rescued and trained for a specific job depending on their personalities.  We are currently training dogs for tracking people who are lost, finding people who have passed away, and service dogs for those with disabilities or veterans with PTSD.

To facilitate this training, we are looking to build a National Training Center in Western Kentucky.  This training center will have classrooms, canine kennels, equine stables, personnel quarters, an indoor arena, and land to utilize for navigation and endurance training.  This would allow us to host training seminars for first responders and volunteers in the community  in the importance of search and rescue.  It would also give us a location to introduce people to their new service animal so they can stay together and learn to work as a team.

It is common to wait years to adopt a service animal due to lack of availability.  The animal shelters in this area are also at capacity and some dogs will have to be euthanized to make room for new dogs.  We are hoping to help reduce both of these problems by rescuing dogs from the shelter and turning them into service dogs.

Please help us raise the money needed to purchase land and build our training facility.  Every little bit helps.  Your donation could mean the difference between someone's life or death in the future.

Thank you to everyone that has donated to our cause thus far. We still have a long way to go, but every little bit helps. We have had 118 people share this campaign, if each of those people shared $5 we could have almost $600 in additional donations. Don't forget, your donations are tax deductible!

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us at Tater Day. It was a cold windy day for a fundraiser, but the team members, dogs, horse, and Scooby Rescue Dog enjoyed meeting everyone who stopped by.

Watch WPSD News Channel 6 Monday night April 11, 2016 to see team member Clay and his rescued dog Leo. They were interviewed as part 1 of a series highlighting our team.
