Jim's Kidney Transplant Fund

$20,000 of $20,000 goal

Hello Friends - Jim Moss, my husband and best friend of 35 years is in desperate need of a kidney. Medical expenses are adding up fast and I am scared that we will not be able to afford the expense of the medication he will be required to take for the rest of his life. Jim’s blood type is O - which is very difficult to find a match. He has been approved for a kidney transplant. Throughout his entire life, Jim has always put others first, made personal sacrifices for our family business, hosted countless roping and barrel racing jackpots and has been a wonderful father of two awesome kids - it's time now to help him. Asking for help is extremely hard for us, as we are all about helping others. But, I have faith and believe someone is out there that can help. Thank you and God Bless.

Yesterday I posted an update, because I had several people ask if we had a GoFund page. I didn't realize that it was reaching our friends that have already donated. I apologize for that! My good friend called me last night and let me know - so I appreciate that. Sorry to be annoying. Hope you all enjoy the holidays - and, Merry Christmas!

We would like to express our gratitude for all the prayers, shares and donations. It’s been awhile since my last update. This photo, from 1997, is special to me. I won my first saddle with Jim and it’s my goal to win another one with him. We miss our roping friends so much! Winning my first saddle was special, but winning it with my best friend and husband made that moment perfect. I can still hear Tim Nelson announcing that short round. We always had so much fun at the Rope The Rockies ropings produced by Tim Nelson and his crew. They always did an outstanding job - set the standard in the industry. The other winners, in this photo are: Bret Steele and Tim Reynolds. Several more friends have been tested. But, still no match. Jim's kidney function is at 11%. We are thankful for the friendships we have made during our wonderful life. Because of The WRANGLER, we have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people in the horse world. We’d like to remind everyone that we still donate ads for our friends in need. So, if you know of a fundraiser for a family in need, please let us know. Thank you and God bless.

Jim and I would like to thank everyone again! It is so humbling to know that the world is full of so many kind and caring people!!! We are blessed to have so many good friends. We love each and every one! We like to help others, rather than asking for help - so, please keep in mind that as publishers of The WRANGLER, we will donate ads and gift baskets to anyone trying to raise funds for someone in crisis. We will also share it on The WRANGLER Face Book page. I took this photo of the Mayo Clinic, while letting Grizz (our standard poodle) run around. Grizz has put his time in, at the Mayo Clinic, patiently waiting for his best friend to get out of his appointments. I took this particular photo while Jim was in surgery, which prepares him for dialysis. The surgery went well and Jim’s spirits are still strong! We had a great trip. Thank you to Deryl and Kathy Sweat for always having a place for our living quarters - you’re our home away from home! We got back home a few days ago. It’s nice to be back at the JMA! Thank you Eddie Pate for taking care of things while we were gone again.

The Sim’s gang stopped by the other day to visit with Jim, while he was working on our automatic gate. I just had to take this photo!! Tyson, Shane and Doug have this look by choice. Well, I guess Jim does too - Jim says he’s not shaving or getting a haircut until he gets a kidney. LOL

We are at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ for Jim’s annual check up and surgery to start dialysis. Jim’s GFR number is declining each month and he is very close to complete kidney failure. Everyone at the Mayo clinic is getting a kick out of Jim’s look, but also hoping for a kidney soon, for my sake!!! ha ha

On April 6, before going to bed, I checked Facebook - there were several messages that were trying to come through, but failed. The next morning, they had all disappeared. There was one message that said although his was not in my circle of FB friends, his blood is Type O and that he is ready to donate a kidney. He said I could contact him, via his gmail account - although there is a possibility this is a scam, I’m praying that it is not and that person will read this post and reach out again.

Jim and I would like to say thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and donations. Due to privacy policies at the Mayo Clinic, they are not able to tell us if anyone has contacted them. So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to anyone that has contacted Mayo to attempt to donate a kidney. THANK you and God Bless!
