The very last thing I want to do is "out" myself as transsexual...
But, I find myself in a situation where there is no alternative. And, I need your help.
I am a Federal employee, and as such I have the Federal Employee Health Plan. For the first time EVER, in 2017 the Federal Employee Health Plan will cover Gender Reassignment Surgery (mostly).
This is HUGE!
However, given the new administration in our country at the House, Senate, and Presidential level I don't see this amendment to the Federal Health Plan lasting for longer than this one, single year, as the House and Senate both share this Health Plan with those of us in the other Federal branches.
As such I need help paying the out-of-pocket portion of my Gender Reassignment Surgery before I miss my chance. I am hoping for $1,500, but I need to come up with closer to $4,000-$5,000 total to pay for all my surgical costs. And, I need to do this as soon as possible; I have to have the money before I can join the surgical wait list.
I most definitely can't do it alone, my finances won't permit that, and I don't want to miss out on an opportunity that will, in all reality, most likely not exist in 2018 until at least 2021.
So it is with much awkwardness, and anxiety that I ask my friends if they will help me afford this surgery before it's removed from the Federal Plan.
