Trip to World Championships

I have been selected on the Australian team to compete at the World Championships in Bosnia!
When I first started training for Muay Thai, I had just retired as competitive swimmer of 16years. I came to the sport knowing absolutely nothing about how to hit pads or even wrap my hands, let alone wanting to fight. After about 8 months of training, my coach had convinced me to step in the ring and have a fight. Only a couple months later, I had my first fight and never looked back! I fell in love with it! After 1 year of fighting I won my first title- NSW K1 State Champion.
After this fight, there were many up's and down's, as it was starting to get a little more serious and it wasn't just "let's see how we go" attitude anymore. It was now about doing things properly. Since then I have won and lost a few fights, along with many injuries and learning curves. Learning curves that involved having to pick myself up despite everything and keep going. My most recent fight I came away with not just a win, but my best performance so far. That was due to putting in countless hours in the gym, being absolutely on point with nutrition, whilst working full time and part time jobs.
Being selected on the Australian team is a huge honour for me, and something that I never would have thought possible not only from the beginning of my career, where I didn't even want to fight, but all the way up to a month ago where I never thought I would be at that level.
