Save Brandi & R.J.'s Wedding!

Brandi and RJ met in 2007. Brandi had a feeling that RJ could be someone very special in her life and asked RJ if she could see him perform downtown at The Pearl Theatre on her birthday. The rest is history. Shortly after, he moved into her Brooklyn apartment and they began to create a life together. Brandi began to pursue her dream of becoming a massage therapist and RJ started climbing up the ranks as an actor. After six years together, RJ took her to the first place they met. With her grandmother’s engagement ring in his hand; he asked her to be his wife and partner. Just weeks after their newly engaged bliss began, RJ got the job opportunity of his life at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Unfortunately, this job would take him across the country, requiring him to spend a full year away from his beautiful bride to be. Without even time to start discussing wedding plans he had to leave.

After a very emotional farewell Brandi began to plan their dream wedding alone. With the help of friends, her parents in Tennessee, and limited FaceTime chats with her love, she was able to find what she thought was the perfect place to hold their party. Her parents took every bit of their wedding budget and put it towards the "too good to be true" Rebar. Owner Jason Stevens was able to meet them at their highest possible budget if they paid in full up front. With the venue, food, and decorations in place, Brandi was then able to find her dream dress and begin to finally visualize her special day with her special man. All of that was crushed on Friday May 9th, when the news that Rebar has filed for bankruptcy and all of their deposits were lost. Jason Stevens has since been arrested but the money is already gone. Brandi and RJ are devastated and in shock. This amazing couple had their wedding yanked out from under them. Any amount that you can contribute to recover a portion of what was lost would be hugely appreciated.  Even $1 would be a beautiful contribution-no amount is too small!  Please share this link with friends, family and loved ones if you feel moved to do so.  Thank you!
