I will be representing all of Louisville in the 2014 Miss Kentucky Pageant held July 10-12, 2014. I am so excited for this amazing opportunity and I realize that I need to put my best foot forward in competition. I am unable to afford all of the expenses on my own and am looking for a helping hand! It’s my hope that this would be an opportunity for you to be able to minister in the Miss Kentucky program as well. Although the Miss America Organization is all about promoting confidence in women, providing us a voice to share our message and scholarship to further our education, a lot must be invested into the program to be successful.
As a junior at Kentucky Christian University pursuing nursing, like many other college students, I am pinching pennies most of the time. Unlike many other college students, I am paying for college myself, which is one of the main reasons I began participating in the Miss America Scholarship Organization in the first place. I have come to realize that with this program and the windows of opportunity that it provides, I am able to be a better servant for Jesus Christ. This organization is my mission field. I ask that you pray about this request and consider sponsoring me this year in my journey to become Miss Kentucky 2014.
My goal is $3,000 total. This money will be used towards the necessary expenses to compete in the Miss KY pageant such as, an evening gown, a swimsuit, hair and make up, the making of a talent track, etc. I always hope to be a good steward of my money and of course of any sponsors, and to shop for the best price no matter what. If I receive any amount of money above and beyond my goal, it will go to support Children's Miracle Network, as that is the Miss America Organization's national platform.
When I began competing in pageants nine years ago, I never imagined that the Lord would bring me here. I have been beyond blessed by the many opportunities He has provided me to share my message of "W.A.I.T.," my personal platform. W.A.I.T. is all about building the self-esteem in young girls, emphasizing their inner and outer beauty, value and worth. I am using my victory of overcoming my own obstacles as an inspiration to many! I am very passionate about W.A.I.T. because it gives hope to those who may feel like they have no one to turn to. I hope to influence many more young girls by sharing my message not only all over Kentucky, but this country as well with the larger microphone of Miss Kentucky and then Miss America.
I just want to assure you that you will not walk away empty handed. You are not only investing in this organization as a whole, but you are investing personally in my life, in my journey to become Miss Kentucky, and the lives I will have the opportunity to influence. I firmly believe that if it is God's will that I am crowned Miss Kentucky 2014, it will happen. I believe this year is my year. I am qualified and equipped to accept the title and the job responsibilities of Miss Kentucky. More than money, I ask that you be in deep prayer for me through this journey. Pray that I am able to stay positive, even in stressful situations. Pray that I seek the Lord above all else, I know that when I am constantly connected to Him, He will direct my path. Pray for courage, peace and wisdom above all else. Thank you all!
