Pray for Sri Lanka

For us Sri Lankans living abroad, we are truly saddened and devastated by the attacks on our island.  With over 300 dead and 500 injured, we recognize that our island and our people are in a state of agony, with no telling of where the chaos will end.  

I cannot say what it is to experience the tragedies first-hand, but I can vouch for all of us Sri Lankans who are in the same position: a state and a feeling of helplessness while we watch our loved ones suffer.

Just as many others have done, I want to make a positive difference in my community, despite the 8,900 miles between us.  I am aware that hospitals are currently short of medical equipment, but I feel that these funds should go towards the victims and their families.  While I cannot turn back time, I hope that their medical expenses are the last thing on their mind and that, with time, they are able to begin re-building their future.
