Niall Stems for hope

All of a sudden I felt like a prisoner in my own body. This is how I felt on 9th May 2012 at 33 years of age when I heard the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis” - Niall Bedford.
We are fundraising for Niall Bedford;
All funds will assist in sending Niall to Russia for HSCT (Hematopietic Stem Cell Transplantation) for MS (Multiple Sclerosis - Relapse / Remit)Niall was diagnosed with this debilitating illness on the May Bank Holiday weekend in 2012. Since diagnosis his life has changed dramatically, the first biggest change was work; he had a physical job with Iarnoid Eireann where he worked for 15 years but unfortunately this was the first thing he was no longer able to do. He suffers daily with the simplest of activities & tasks. This illness has stripped Niall of any kind of a normal lifestyle, his chronic fatigue and excruciating headaches impact his life immensely. Niall is a 40 year old man with a loving wife & 3 children. He is a son, a brother, a husband, a father, an uncle & a brother-in-law. Even with this debilitating illness, you will rarely hear him complain. He has trialled a lot of medications & seen a lot of specialists but the only hope we have all had as a family is when we researched HSCT.HSCT gives a 90-95% success rate of halting disease progression in patients with RRMS and has shown to reverse lesion activity associated in patients with MS. This treatment will be very intense and Niall will have to spend between 30-40 days in hospital in Russia to undergo a whole cycle of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. During this time he will also receive 3-5 days of invasive chemotherapy where he will remain in isolation until completed. Dr. Fedorenko is a Specialist Haematologist in Russia and he has over 10 years experience in HSCT with huge success rates. Further information on HSCT can be found on https://www.msclerosis.comHSCTcan free Niall from this prison called MS.Unfortunately this treatment isn’t funded & we need to raise €60,000. We need help to get Niall the treatment he truly deserves to have his life back.As a family, we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to please help us achieve this goal. No donation is too small; we need your help for Niall to receive this vital treatment for him to have a chance at living a ‘normal life’ again.
